CHOCOLATE COCONUT PIE
I HAVE MADE THIS PIE OFTEN AND ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT IT IS DELICIOUS. IT ALMOST REMINDS ME OF THE ALMOND JOY CANDY BARS. I HAVE ON OCCASION ADDED CHOPPED ALMONDS. THIS RECIPE COMES FROM A SITE WHICH I BELONG TO.
List of Ingredients
- 4 OUNCES OF GERMAN SWEET CHOCOLATE
- 1/4 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE
- 1 ( 13 OUNCE) EVAPORATED MILK
- 1 1/3 CUPS ANGELFLAKE COCONUT
- 3 SLIGHTLY BEATEN EGGS
- 1/2 CUP SUGAR
- 1 FROZEN UNBAKED 9" PIE SHELL
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 400°.
- MELT CHOCOLATE AND BUTTER OVER VERY LOW HEAT IN A SAUCEPAN, STIRRING CONSTANTLY. ADD MILK, COCONUT, EGGS AND SUGAR. STIR UNTIL INGREDIENTS ARE BLENDED WELL.
- POUR INTO PIE SHELL AND BAKE FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES.
- COOL OR SERVE WARM WITH ICE CREAM OR COOL WHIP. STORE IN REFRIGERATOR.
