SOUR CREAM APPLE PIE
List of Ingredients
- 1 CUP SOUR CREAM
- 3/4 CUP GRANULATED SUGAR
- 3 TABLESPOONS FLOUR
- 1/4 TEASPOON VANILLA
- 1 EGG
- 1/2 TEASPOON CINNAMON
- 4 CUPS PEELED SLICED TART APPLES
- 1/2 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS
- 1 FROZEN DEEP DISH PIE CRUST, THAWED
- 1/2 CUP PACKED BROWN SUGAR
- 1/3 CUP FLOUR
- 3 TABLESPOONS BUTTER OR MARGARINE
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 375°.
- IN A MIXING BOWL, BEAT TOGETHER SOUR CREAM, SUGAR, FLOUR, SALT, VANILLA, EGG, CINNAMON AND NUTMEG UNTIL SUGAR DISSOLVES. FOLD IN APPLES AND WALNUTS.
- POUR INTO PIE CRUST. SET ASIDE.
- MIX TOGETHER BROWN SUGAR AND FLOUR. CUT IN BUTTER TILL CRUMBLY. SPRINKLE OVER PIE MIXTURE. BAKE 45 TO 50 MINUTES OR UNTIL APPLES ARE SOFT. COVER WITH FOIL IF PIE IS BROWNING TOO QUICKLY.
