- 1/2 POUND SOFTENED BUTTER
- 7 EGGS, AT ROOM TEMPERATURE
- 3 CUPS CAKE FLOUR SIFTED TWICE AND THEN MEASURED
- 1 CUP WHIPPING CREAM
- 2 TEASPOON VANILLA
Instructions
- BUTTER AND FLOUR A 10" TUBE PAN. SET ASIDE
- BEAT BUTTER AND SUGAR UNTIL CREAMY. ADD EGGS ONE AT A TIME, BEATING WELL AFTER EACH ADDITION. ADD 1/2 OF THE FLOUR, ADD THE WHIPPING CREAM AND MIX, THEN ADD THE REMAINDER OF THE FLOUR MIXING WELL TO COMBINE. ADD THE VANILLA. MIXING WELL.
- POUR THE BATTER INTO PREPARED PAN.
- THIS IS GOING TO SOUND FUNNY, BUT FOLLOW AS INSTRUCTED. PLACE THE TUBE PAN IN A COLD OVEN AND TURN OVEN TO 350° AND BAKE 60 TO 70 MINUTES OR UNTIL CAKE TESTER INSERTED IN CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN. COOL IN PAN 5 MINUTES. REMOVE FROM PAN AND COOL THOROUGHLY.
