    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 CUP COCOA
    • 1/4 CUP SUGAR
    • 1/4 CUP LIGHT CORN SYRUP
    • 1/4 CUP KHALUA
    • 1/4 CUP WATER
    • 3/4 CUP MILK
    • 1 TABLESPOONS VANILLA
    • 1 LB SWEET BUTTER
    • 2 1/2 CUPS SUGAR
    • 6 LARGE EGGS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE
    • 4 CUPS FLOUR
    • 1/4 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
    • 4 OUNCES OF SEMISWEET CHOCOLATE
    • 4 TABLESPOONS SWEET BUTTER
    • 2 DTABLESPOONS HEAVY CREAM
    • 2 TABLESPOONS KHALUA


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 300°. GREASE AND FLOUR 10" TUBE PAN. SET ASIDE.
    2. FUDGE:
      IN A SAUCEPAN, OVER LOW HEAT, MIX COCOA, SUGAR, CORN SYRUP, KHALUA AND WATER. HEAT TO BOILING OVER MEDIUM HEAT, STIRRING CONSTANTLY. REMOVE AND COOL AND SET ASIDE.
    3. CAKE:
      IN A SMALL GLASS MEASURING CUP, MIX MILK AND VANILLA.
      IN A LARGE BOWL, MIX AT HIGH SPEED THE BUTTER AND SUGAR 3 MINUTES OR UNTIL FLUFFY.
      BEAT IN EGGS ONE AT A TIME BEATING WELL AFTER EACH ADDITION.

      ADD FLOUR 1/4 AT A TIME ALTERNATELY WITH MILK MIXTURE IN 1/3'S BEGINNING AND ENDING WITH FLOUR.

      SPOON 1/3 OF THE BATTER ( 2 1/2 CUPS) INTO MEDIUM BOWL.

      STIR BAKING SODA INTO FUDGE STIRRING INTO BATTER IN A MEDIUM BOWL.

      POUR HALF OF THE REMAINING PLAIN BATTER INTO PREPARED PAN. TOP WITH FUDGE BATTER, ADDING REMAINING PLAIN BATTER.

      BAKE 1 HOUR AND 40 MINUTES OR UNTIL TESTER COMES OUT CLEAN. COOL CAKE IN PAN ON WIRE RACK FOR 15 MINUTES. INVERT ONTO RACK AND COOL.

    4. GLAZE:

      IN FOOD PROCESSOR CHOP CHOCOLATE.

      IN SAUCEPAN, HEAT BUTTER, CREAM AND KHALUA TO BOILING. WITH PROCESSING RUNNING, POUR INTO CHOCOLATE, PROCESS UNTIL CHOCOLATE MELTS AND MIXTURE IS SMOOTH. COOL COMPLETELY AND DRIZZLE OVER POUND CAKE.
