    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 CUP CRISCO SHORTENING
    • 3/4 CUPS SUGAR
    • 2 EGGS
    • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
    • 2 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR, SIFT FIRST, THEN MEASURE
    • 1 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
    • 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
    • 1 CUP BUTTERMILK
    • 1 CUP CHOPPED PECANS
    • 10 OUNCE JAR CHOPPED MARASCHINO CHERRIES, ( 1 CUP)


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
    2. CREAM CRISCO AND SUGAR TILL LIGHT AND FLUFFY, BEAT IN EGGS AND VANILLA.
    3. COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING SODA AND SALT. ADD ALTERNATING WITH BUTTERMILK TO CREAMED MIXTURE, MIXING WELL. FOLD IN CHERRIES AND NUTS.
    4. POUR INTO A GREASED LOAF PAN. BAKE 55 TO 60 MINUTES.
    5. COOL 10 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING FROM PAN. PLACE LOAF ON A WIRE RACK TO COOL COMPLETELY.
    6. 1 LOAF
