CHERRY NUT LOAF
List of Ingredients
- 1/2 CUP CRISCO SHORTENING
- 3/4 CUPS SUGAR
- 2 EGGS
- 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
- 2 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR, SIFT FIRST, THEN MEASURE
- 1 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- 1 CUP BUTTERMILK
- 1 CUP CHOPPED PECANS
- 10 OUNCE JAR CHOPPED MARASCHINO CHERRIES, ( 1 CUP)
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
- CREAM CRISCO AND SUGAR TILL LIGHT AND FLUFFY, BEAT IN EGGS AND VANILLA.
- COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING SODA AND SALT. ADD ALTERNATING WITH BUTTERMILK TO CREAMED MIXTURE, MIXING WELL. FOLD IN CHERRIES AND NUTS.
- POUR INTO A GREASED LOAF PAN. BAKE 55 TO 60 MINUTES.
- COOL 10 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING FROM PAN. PLACE LOAF ON A WIRE RACK TO COOL COMPLETELY.
