    CINNAMON SWIRL QUICK BREAD


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 CUP CRISCO SHORTENING
    • 1 CUP SUGAR
    • 3 EGGS
    • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA
    • 1 CUP SOUR CREAM
    • 1/4 CUP 1/2 AND 1/2 OR MILK
    • 1 1/2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
    • 1 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
    • 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
    • 1/4 CUP SUGAR
    • 2 TEASPOONS CINNAMON
    • 1 1/2 TEASPOONS SHREDDED ORANGE RIND
    • 2 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR, SIFT FIRST, THEN MEASURE


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
    2. CREAM CRISCO AND SUGAR TILL LIGHT AND FLUFFY, BEAT IN EGGS AND VANILLA, BLEND IN SOUR CREAM AND 1/2 AND 1/2 OR MILK.
    3. COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, BAKING SODA AND SALT. ADD TO CREAMED MIXTURE AND BLEND.
    4. SPREAD HALF OF THE BATTER IN A LIGHTLY GREASED LOAF PAN.
    5. COMBINE SUGAR, CINNAMON AND ORANGE PEEL. SRINKLE ALL BUT 1 TABLESPOON OVER BATTER IN LOAF PAN. TOP WITH REMAINING BATTER AND CUT THROUGH WITH A KNIFE OR METAL SPATULA TO MAKE SWIRLS IN BATTER. SPRINKLE TOP WITH REMAINING 1 TABLESPOON OF SUGAR MIX.
    6. BAKE 45 TO 50 MINUTES. REMOVE FROM OVEN AND LET SIT FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING FROM PAN. REMOVE LOAF TO A WIRE RACK TO COOL COMPLETELY.
    7. 1 LOAF
