    MILK 'N' HONEY BREAD


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 CUP MILK
    • 2/3 CUP HONEY
    • 1/4 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE
    • 1 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
    • 1 CUP WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR
    • 1/2 CUP WHEATG GERM
    • 1/2 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS, TOASTED
    • 1 TABLESPOON BAKING POWDER
    • 1/2 TEASPOON SALT


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 325°. GREASE A 9 X 5 X 3" LOAF PAN AND SET ASIDE.
    2. IN A SAUCE PAN COMBINE MILK, HONEY AND BUTTER. HEAT JUST UNTIL THE BUTTER IS MELTED. COOL FOR 10 MINUTES.
    3. IN A BOWL, COMBINE THE FLOUR, WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, WHEAT GERM, NUTS, BAKING POWDER AND SALT.
    4. STIR IN THE COOLED MILK MIXTURE INTO THE DRY INGREDIENTS JUST UNTIL COMBINED.
    5. POUR INTO PREPARED LOAF PAN AND BAKE FOR 1 HOUR OR UNTIL A CAKE TESTER INSERTED NEAR THE CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN. COOL FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING FROM THE PAN TO A WIRE RACK. SEVE WARM.
    6. YIELDS: 1 LOAF
