MILK 'N' HONEY BREAD
List of Ingredients
- 1 CUP MILK
- 2/3 CUP HONEY
- 1/4 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE
- 1 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
- 1 CUP WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR
- 1/2 CUP WHEATG GERM
- 1/2 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS, TOASTED
- 1 TABLESPOON BAKING POWDER
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 325°. GREASE A 9 X 5 X 3" LOAF PAN AND SET ASIDE.
- IN A SAUCE PAN COMBINE MILK, HONEY AND BUTTER. HEAT JUST UNTIL THE BUTTER IS MELTED. COOL FOR 10 MINUTES.
- IN A BOWL, COMBINE THE FLOUR, WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, WHEAT GERM, NUTS, BAKING POWDER AND SALT.
- STIR IN THE COOLED MILK MIXTURE INTO THE DRY INGREDIENTS JUST UNTIL COMBINED.
- POUR INTO PREPARED LOAF PAN AND BAKE FOR 1 HOUR OR UNTIL A CAKE TESTER INSERTED NEAR THE CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN. COOL FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE REMOVING FROM THE PAN TO A WIRE RACK. SEVE WARM.
