ALMOND SCONES
List of Ingredients
- 2 CUPS BISQUICK
- 1/2 CUP COARSELY CHOPPED ALMONDS
- 1/3 CUP HEAVY CREAM OR HALF & HALF
- 3 TABLESLPOONS SUGAR
- 1/4 TEASPOON ALMOND EXTRACT
- 1 LARGE EGG
- MILK
- 2 TABLESLPOONS COARSELY CHOPPED ALMONDS
- SUGAR
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 425°. GREASE A COOKIE SHEET AND SET ASDIE.
- MIX BISQUICK, ALMONDS, HEAVY CREAM, SUGAR, ALMOND EXTRACT AND EGG UNTIL DOUGH FORMS.
- TURN ONTO A LIGHTLY DUSTED SURFACE WITH BISQUICK AND ROLL IN DOUGH TO COVER. SHAPE INTO A BALL AND KNEAD 10 TIMES.
- PAT INTO AN 8" CIRCLE ON A COOKIE SHEET, BRUSH WITH MILK AND SPRINKLE WITH ALMONDS AND SUGAR. CUT HALFWAY THROUGH INTO 8 WEDGES AND BAKE UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN ABOUT 12 MINUTES. SERVE WARM.
