APPLE SCONES

List of Ingredients
- 2 CUPS FLOUR
- 1/4 CUP SUGAR OR SUGAR SUBSTITUTE
- 2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
- 1/2 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- 1/4 CUP COLD BUTTER OR MARGARINE
- 1 SHREDDED APPLE
- 1/2 CUP MILK OR 1/2 N 1/2 OR 2% MILK
- MILK
- SUGAR
- GROUND CINNAMON
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 425°. LIGHTLY SPRAY BAKING SHEET WITH BUTTER VEGETABLE SPRAY. SET ASIDE
- MEASURE THE FLOUR, SUGAR, BAKING POWDER, BAKING SODA AND SALT INTO A LARGE BOWL.
- CUT IN BUTTER OR MARGARINE UNTIL CRUMBLY. ADD SHREDDED APPLE AND MILK. STIR TO FORM A SOFT DOUGH.
- TURN DOUGH OUT ONTO A LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE. KNEAD GENTLY 8 TO 10 TIMES.
- PAT INTO TWO 6 INCH CIRCLES. PLACE ON PREPARED GREASED BAKING SHEET.
- BRUSH TOPS WITH MILK AND SPRINKLE WITH SUGAR AND CINNAMON.
- SCORE EACH INTO 6 PIE SHAPED WEDGES.
- BAKE FOR 15 MINUTES, OR UNTIL BROWNED AND RISEN. SERVE WARM WITH BUTTER.
Final Comments
THESE CAN BE WRAPPED UP AND FROZEN. WHEN NEEDED REMOVE FROM FREEZER LET SIT AT ROOM TEMPERATURE FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 30 MINUTES.YOU CAN HEAT THEM UP FOR A FEW SECONDS IN THE MICROWAVE. SPLIT OPEN AND ADD SOME BUTTER.
