CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER SCONES
List of Ingredients
- 2 CUPS FLOUR
- 1/2 CUP BROWN SUGAR
- 2 1/2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
- 1/4 TEASPOON SALT
- 1/4 CUP SWEET COLD BUTTER, CUT INTO CUBES
- 3/4 CUP CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER
- 1/4 CUP MILK
- 2 LARGE EGGS
- 2 TEASPOONS VANILLA
- 1/2 CUP UNSALTED CHOPPED PEANUTS
- 3/4 CUPS SEMI-SWEET MINI-CHOCOLATE CHIPS
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN 375°.
- IN A LARGE BOWL, STIR TOGETHER THE FLOUR,BROWN SUGAR, BAKING POWDER, AND SALT. CUT IN THE BUTTER WITH A PASTRY BLENDER OR WITH YOUR FINGERS UNTIL THE MIXTURE RESEMBLES COARSE CRUMBS.
- IN A SMALL BOWL, STIR TOGETHER THE PEANUT BUTTER, MILK, EGGS AND VANILLA, ADD TO THE FLOUR MIXTURE AND MIX UNTIL BLENDED. REMOVE FROM BOWL TO A LIGHTLY FLOURED SURFACE AND ADD THE PEANUTS AND CHOCOLATE CHIPS AND KNEAD 8 TO 10 TIMES.
- FORM THE DOUGH INTO A 9" CIRCLE ON A BAKING SHEET. WITH A SERRATED KNIFE, CUT INTO 8 WEDGES. BAKE 18 TO 20 MINUTES, OR UNTIL A CAKE TESTER INSERTED INTO THE CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN. REMOVE AND PLACE ON A WIRE RACK AND COOL 5 MINUTES.
