    • 3 CUPS SELF RISING FLOUR
    • 1/4 CUP SUGAR
    • 1 CUP MILK OR HEAVY CREAM
    • 1 STICK CHILLED BUTTER CUT INTO PIECES
    • 1/4 CUP LIGHT BROWN SUGAR
    • 1/2 CUP CURRANTS
    • DEVONSHIRE CREAM #1
    • 1 CUP SOUR CREAM
    • 2 TO 3 TABLESPOONS POWDERED SUGAR
    • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
    • DEVONSHIRE CREAM #2
    • 3 OUNCE PACKAGE SOFTENED CREAM CHEESE
    • 1 TABLESPOON POWDER SUGAR
    • 1/2 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
    • 1/3 TO 1/2 CUP HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 400°.
    2. IN A BOWL SIFT FLOUR ADD SUGAR AND CURRANTS. ADD BUTTER AND RUB IN WITH YOUR FINGERS. STIR IN MILK TO FORM A STICKY DOUGH. KNEAD ON FLOURED BOARD UNTIL JUST COMBINED. FORM INTO A BALL AND FLATTEN TO ABOUT 3/4" THICK. CUT WITH ANY COOKIE CUTTER SHAPE OF YOUR CHOICE AND PLACE ON A COOKIE SHEET.
    3. BAKE APPROXIMATELY 12 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. SERVE WITH CREAM.
    4. DEVONSHIRE CREAM # 1: BLEND IN ALL INGREDIENTS TOGETHER AND CHILL BEFORE SERVING.

    5. DEVONSHIRE CREAM # 2: BEAT CREAM CHEESE UNTIL LITE AND FLUFFY. BEAT IN POWDER SUGAR AND VANILLA. GRADUALLY BEAT IN ENOUGH WHIPPPING CREAM TO MAKE A MIXTURE OF SPREADING CONSISTANCY. COVER AND CHILL FROM 2 HOURS TO OVER NIGHT.
