PECANS AND CREAM CHEESE SCONES
List of Ingredients
- 2 CUPS FLOUR
- 1/4 CUP SUGAR
- 2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
- 1 TEASPOON SALT
- 3 TABLESPOONS BUTTER
- 3 TABLESPOONS CREAM CHEESE
- 2/3 CUP MILK
- 1 EGG
- 1/2 CUP MEDIUM CHOPPED PECANS
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
- SIFT TOGETHER FLOUR, SUGAR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT IN A MEDIUM SIZE BOWL. CUT IN BUTTER AND CREAM CHEESE WITH A PASTRY BLENDER OR YOUR FINGERS UNTIL CRUMBLY.
- BEAT TOGETHER THE MILK AND EGG. POUR INTO DRY INGREDIENTS, STIRRING UNTIL WELL BLENDED. ADD PECANS AND COMBINE WITH DOUGH.
- WITH AN ICE CREAM SCOOP DROP ONTO A BUTTERED BAKING SHEET. BRUSH WITH MILK AND SPRINKLE WITH SOMESUGAR. BAKE 25 TO 30 MINUTES ORUNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. REMOVE FROM OVEN AND PLACE ON A WIRE RACK TO COOL.
