PECAN AND CREAM CHEESE SCONES
List of Ingredients
- 2 CUPS FLOUR
- 1/4 CUP SUGAR
- 2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
- 1 TEASPOON SALT
- 3 TABLESLPOONS BUTTER
- 3 TABLESPOONS CREAM CHEESE
- 2/3 CUP MILK OR 1/2 AND 1/2 OR HEAVY CREAM
- 1 EGG
- 1/2 CUP CHOPPED PECANS
Instructions
- PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
- SIFT TOGETHER FLOUR, SUGAR, BAKING POWDER AND SALT IN A LARGE BOWL. CUT BUTTER AND CREAM CHEESE INTO THE DRY INGREDIENTS UNTIL CRUMBLY WITH A PASTRY BLENDER OR WITH YOUR FINGERS.
- BEAT TOGETHER THE MILK AND EGG. POUR INTO THE DRY INGREDIENTS, STIRRING UNTIL WELL BLENDED. ADD PECANS AND COMBINE WITH DOUGH. SCOOP ONTO BUTTERED BAKING SHEET.
- BRUSH TOPS WITH SOME MILK. BAKE FOR APPROXIMATELY 25 TO 30 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN.
