    List of Ingredients


    • 2 CUPS FLOUR
    • 1/4 CUP SUGAR
    • 1 TABLESPOON SUGAR FOR SPRINKLING TOPS
    • 2 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
    • 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
    • 3 TABLESPOONS SWEET BUTTER
    • 1 1/2 CUPS BUTTERMILK
    • 1 CUP FRESH OR FROZEN BLUEBERRIES OR 1/3 CUP RAISINS YOUR CHOICE


    Instructions


    1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°.
    2. IN A LARGE BOWL, STIR TOGETHER FLOUR, SUGAR BAKING POWDER AND SALT. CUT IN BUTTER WITH A PASTRY BLENDER OR YOUR FINGERS UNTIL MIXTURE RESEMBLES COARSE CRUMBS. STIR IN BLUEBERRIES OR RAISINS. MAKE A WELL IN THE CENTER AND GRADUALLY STIR IN BUTTERMILK JUST UNTIL BLENDED. DOUGH SHOULD BE STICKY.
    3. DROP BY SPOONFUL ONTO A BAKING SHEET SPRAYED WITH COOKING SPRAY. SPRINKLE TOPS WITH REMAINING SUGAR.
    4. BAKE IN OVEN FOR 15 TO 20 MINUTES OR UNTIL PUFFED AND LIGHTLY BROWNED.
    5. APPROXIMATELY 14 SCONES
    6. THESE CAN BE COOKED ON A GRIDDLE OR BAKED IN THE OVEN. THESE ARE QUICK AND EASY TO MAKE. THESE ARE DROPPED FROM A LARGE SPOON TO ENSURE LITTLE HANDLING OF THE DOUGH AS POSSIBLE TO ENSURE A LIGHT AS A FEATHER SCONE.
