    CREAM CHEESE PUFFS

    I HAVE MADE THESE DELICIOUS GEMS SO MANY TIMES THAT I CAN MAKE THEM WITH MY EYES CLOSED. THEY ARE GREAT WITH A CUP OF TEA OR COFFEE.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 CUP SUGAR
    • 1 TEASPOON CINNAMON
    • 1/4 CUP MELTED BUTTER
    • 1/2 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
    • 1 CAN GRANDS BISCUITS OR CRESCENT ROLLS ( YOUR CHOICE)
    • 3 OZ. CREAM CHEESE CUT INTO 10 CUBES
    • TOASTED CRUSHED ALMONDS ( OPTIONAL)


    Instructions


    1. IN A SMALL BOWL, COMBINE SUGAR AND CINNAMON. SET ASIDE.
    2. IN ANOTHER BOWL, COMBINE THE BUTTER AND VANILLA. SET ASIDE.
    3. IF USING BISCUITS: PRESS EACH BISCUIT INTO A 3" CIRCLE.

    4. DIP CREAM CHEESE CUBES IN BUTTER AND THEN IN CINNAMON SUGAR. PUT ONE CHEESE CUBE IN EACH BISCUIT. FOLD DOUGH OVER CHEESE AND SEAL AND SHAPE INTO BALLS. DIP BALLS IN BUTTER THEN IN CINNAMON SUGAR. PLACE SEAM SIDE DOWN IN GREASED MUFFIN CUPS.
    5. BAKE IN A PREHEATED 375° OVEN FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN. SERVE WARM.
    6. IF USING CRESCENT ROLLS: SEPERATE DOUGH AND PLACE A PREPARED CREAM CHEESE CUBE ON THE NARROW TIP OF DOUGH AND ROLL UP, TAKE SIDES AND FOLD OVER AND PINCH EDGES TO SEAL. FOLLOW REMAINING INSTRUCTIONS AS FOR BISCUITS.


    Final Comments


    I HAVE MADE THEM WITH A TEASPOON OF APRICOT PRESERVES AND CREAM CHEESE, WHICH WAS WONDERFUL. YOU CAN USE ANY FRUIT PRESERVES WITH THE CREAM CHEESE. EITHER WAY YOU MAKE THEM, YOU WILL ENJOY THEM. IF YOU LIKE, YOU CAN SPRINKLE SOME CRUMBLED UP TOASTED SLICED ALMONDS ON TOP JUST BEFORE BAKING.
