CREAM OF CHICKEN SOUP
List of Ingredients
- 4 CUPS MILK
- 2 TABLESPOONS FLOUR
- 2 TABLESPOONS VEGETABLE OIL
- 2 TABLESPOONS SUGAR
- 2 CUPS COOKED CHICKEN, CHOPPED FINELY
- 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
- 1/2 TEASPOON BLACK PEPPER
- 1/2 TEASPOON GARLIC POWDER
Instructions
- IN A 3 QUART SAUCEPAN, HEAT OIL. GRADUALLY STIR IN FLOUR. STIR UNTIL THICKENED.
- ADD CHICKEN TO WHITE SAUCE MIXTURE. ADD SUGAR, SALT, PEPPER AND GARLIC POWDER. MIX WELL AND SIMMER FOR 20 MINUTES OVER LOW HEAT.
- IF SOUP HAS NOT THICKENED AS YOU WANTED IT TO, MIX A SMALL AMOUNT OF CORNSTARCH WITH A SMALL AMOUNT OF WATER AND ADD TO SOUP AND SIMMER FOR 10 MINUTES.
