MELBA PHILEN'S PEANUT BUTTER LOVERS CAKE
If you're a peanut butter lover, you'll LOVE this delicious cake!!! And when reading the ingredients, just remember calories don't count in this particular recipe! LOL!
List of Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup softened butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup buttermilk
- ***FROSTING***
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 6 1/2 cups powdered sugar-sifted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Grease & flour 3 9in. round cake pans.
- In a large bowl beat peanut butter with mixer for about 30 seconds.
- Add sugar and vanilla until well mixed.
- Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
- Add flour, soda, salt & buttermilk alternately into mixture until well combined.
- Bake at 350* for 25-30 min. or until done.
- Cool on wire rack.--
- FOR FROSTING***
- In a large bowl beat peanut butter until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar and beat.(will be dry)
- Beat in 1/2 cup milk & vanilla.
- Beat in 3 1/2 cups more powdered sugar until combined. (if too stiff-add milk by tsp until desired consistancy.)
- Makes about 3 cups. Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
