Really easy homemade apple pie
Recipe Introduction
I made this one day when I had some extra apples and it turned out great!
List of Ingredients
- 2 frozen pie crusts
- 6 small apples
- 3/4 cup water
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- about 2 tablespoons cornstarch--for thickening
Instructions
- Thaw pie crusts.
- Peel and cut up apples into bite size pieces.
- Place apples, brown sugar, water, & cinnamon in a pot and cook on low until boiling.
- Boil for 3 minutes stirring constantly.
- While still boiling, add cornstarch by the TEASPOON full. Keep adding cornstarch & stirring until thickened.--should be consistancy of canned pie filling.
- Pour into piecrust.
- Place other crust on top and cut a slit on top.
- Sprinkle with white sugar and bake at 350* for about 30 minutes or until golden.
Final Comments
Being the frugal mom that I am, I used the greater value brand pie crusts and it tasted GREAT!!!
