Throw out the old liquid. It DOES go bad. Clean out the feeder using VERY hot water and make a new batch of the liquid:

Use 1/2 cup sugar to two cups water, heat to just boiling, then cool until it can be poured it into the feeder (about 20 minutes). The hummers just love it and it is MUCH less expensive than the mix you buy at the store
