    2 cups water
    2 cups sugar
    1 cup instant coffee -- good quality
    1 fifth 100 proof vodka
    3 tablespoons vanilla

    Bring water, sugar and coffee to a boil. Add vodka and vanilla. Best if aged at least 2 weeks.
