Fruit Dumplings
1c. flour 1/2 tsp.salt
1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder 2 tbs. cream
Recipe
Mix all the ingredients; spread in a well buttered baking dish.Heat
one quart of fruit with juice or if fresh cook
covered with water until boiling and tender. Sweeten to taste using
about 1/2 c. sugar. Add two large spoons of
butter. Stir gently to melt. Pour over the batter. Cook until nicely
browned in a 400 degree oven. It will take about
25 or 30 minuets.
Serve plain warm or cold or top with vanilla ice cream.
Note. This is good with most fruits and berries. We especially like
peaches or apricots and blackberries or
boysenberries.
