I got this recipe from Sherry at the recipe exchange at THS forums.

1/2 c. unpopped corn
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
3 Tbsp. shortening

Put 1/4 cup water in bowl with food coloring. Add corn
and stir to coat. Melt shortening in skillet. Add sugar and
stir. Add popcorn and water mixture. Stir with wooden spoon;
cover and shake until pops. Let pop at peak, remove and pour
on cookie sheet to cool. Break apart when cool.
