HAMBURGER DELUXE

1# hamburg
4 med.onions, sliced thin
2 Tbl. butter
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper

Brown the above well.

Stir in:

2 Tbs flour
1 Tbs Worcheshire sauce
1 8 0z can of mushrooms undrained
1 1/2 C strong beef stock or bullion

Bring to a boil and simmer about 5 min.

Meanwhile combine:

2 C baking mix (Bisquick is what I always use)
1 C Milk

Transfer the meat mixture to a 3 qt casserole and drop the dough by spoonfuls over the top, it will even itself out as it bakes.

Bake at 425 degrees for about 25 minutes, then, top with:

8 oz sour cream
1/2 C shredded cheddar cheese

Return to oven until cheese melts.

I also do a variation of this omitting the mushrooms and stirring in a pkg of taco seasoning, Use a cornbread mix for the topping.
