    Caramel Glazed Apple Cake

    Combine
    1 1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1 1/2 cup oil
    Beat 3-4 minutes
    Add 3 eggs, one at at time and beat well
    Sift
    3 cups flour
    2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    Add to sugar mixture and mix well
    Add
    2 teaspoon vanilla
    Fold in
    3 1/2 cup chopped apples,
    1 cup chopped nuts
    Pour into oiled Bundt pan
    Bake at 325 for 1 1/4 hours
    Cool a bit and invert on cake platter.



    Recipe


    Glaze
    Melt
    3 tablespoons butter
    Add
    3 tablespoons sugar
    3 tablespoons brown sugar
    3 tablespoons evaporated milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    Boil for 1 minute
    Poke a few holes on top of warm cake with a fork. Spoon glaze over cake and let it dribble into holes and down sides of cake.
    let cool and slice.

    I always double the glaze recipe and put it all over the cake.
    Also, I use what ever kind of apple I have on hand at the time.
    It tastes better the next day, if you can wait that long.
