    Biscotti Di Regina (Queen's Biscuits)


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 c Sugar
    • 1 tb Baking powder
    • 1/4 ts Salt
    • 1 c Shortening
    • 2 Eggs; slightly beaten
    • 1/2 c Milk
    • 1/4 lb Sesame seeds; ( 2/3 to 3 C)


    Instructions


    1. Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets.
    2. Heat the oven to 375F.
    3. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into a bowl.
    4. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender or two knives, until the pieces are the size of small peas.
    5. Stir in the eggs and the milk (1 tablespoon at a time) to make a soft dough.
    6. Mix together thoroughly.
    7. Break the dough into small pieces and roll each between the palms of your hands to form rolls about 1 1/2 inches in length.
    8. Flatten the rolls slightly and roll them in the sesame seeds.
    9. Place about 3/4 inch apart on the prepared cookie sheets.
    10. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly browned.
