Crème Brulee
List of Ingredients
- 2 cup(s) heavy cream
- 2 cup(s) whole milk
- 10 egg yolks
- 1 cup(s) granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 12 each Carr's® Ginger Lemon Creme Cookies
- Granulated sugar for glazing (can use brown sugar)
Instructions
- Bring milk and heavy cream to a boil in a medium saucepan.
- Combine egg yolks and sugar in a mixing bowl with a wire whip. Whip egg mixture until fluffy.
- Slowly pour milk into egg mixture stirring until combined. Add vanilla.
- Place serving dishes on a cookie sheet, pour custard into dishes.
- Place pan in preheated 300-degree oven and pour hot water in pan to about half way up the custard dishes.
- Cook for one hour or until the custard is set.
- Refrigerate custards for at least 3 hours.
- Sprinkle an even layer of sugar on the top of the custard and caramelize in a broiler or with a propane torch.
