    Chewy Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

    Source of Recipe

    Heinz It Up

    Recipe Introduction

Don't fall off your computer chair! It's not a mistake, this recipe contains Ketchup.

    Makes about 2 dozen cookies

    List of Ingredients

    6 oz bittersweet chocolate
6 tbsp softened CF magaraine (to not use tub as it contains water)
1/2 cup lightly packed golden or demerra sugar
    1/4 cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup
    1 egg
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2/3 cup GF flour blend (try the bean blend from the archives)
1/4 cup Dutch cocoa powder, sifted
    1 pinch salt
    1 cup CF chocolate chips

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C).

Melt the chocolate in a pan set over a double boiler or in microwave.

Cream margarine until fluffy. Mix in sugar, ketchup, egg, vanilla and cinnamon. Blend in the melted chocolate.

Mix the salt with the flour and cocoa. Stir into margarine mixture. Add chocolate chips and mix just until evenly combined.

Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a greased or parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle of one cookie comes out clean.

    Makes 24 cookies (approx).

    Twists:

Twist 1 For flavour variations, substitute raisins, dried
    cranberries, for the chocolate chips.

Twist 2 For the best results, chill the dough and cookie sheets before baking to prevent cookies from spreading.
