    AUNTIE'S CHOCOLATE CAKE

    Source of Recipe

    Elizabeth Moore (Auntie)

    Recipe Introduction

I don't know where Auntie got this recipe but she would bring this every holiday. It was always the kids favorite. When we went to visit her house she always managed to have some of this cake on hand. Now tht she is gone we still have it for Thanksgiving. My good friend Nita brings it.

    List of Ingredients

    1 cup water
    2 sticks margarine
    3 tablespoons cocoa
    2 cups sugar
    2 cups flour
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    2 eggs beaten
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 cup buttermilk
    1 teaspoon soda
    1 box powdered sugar
    3 tablespoons cocoa
    1 stick margarine
    6 tablespoons evaporated milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Recipe

Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil and boil about 5 minutes.
Mix in a large mixing bowl next 3 ingredients. Pour hot mixture over this and beat.
Add the beaten eggs and next 3 ingredients.
Bake in a greased and floured 9x12 pan at 350 for 35-40 minutes.

    ICING
Mix last 5 ingredients well and put on cake as soon as taken out of the oven. Serve in pan.
