1/4 cup chilled butter or margarine
(cut into small pieces)
3/4 cup buttermilk
**Preheat oven to 450 degrees
**Sift first 6 ingredients into large bowl. Add butter, mix together with fingers until mixture resembles coarse meal. Make well in center, add buttermil. Stir until just mixed.
Fold out onto floured counter. turn dough over itself 7 or 8 times. Pat into 1 inch thickness. Cut with floured 2 inch glass or cutter. place onto ungreased baking sheet.
bake 12 minutes or until golden.
makes 9 to 12 biscuits depending on size when cut.
