Recipe Introduction


This is not just another fruit cake. In fact I hate fruit cake, but this one is really good. My ex mother-in-law was such a good cook. I wish I would have gotten more of her recipes.





List of Ingredients



• 2 cups brown sugar
  
• 2 cups water
  
• 1 tsp cinnamon
  
• 1/2 tsp cloves
  
• 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  
• 2 tbs shortening
  
• 1/2 cup raisins
  
• 1/2 cup mincemeat
  
• 1 cup nuts
  
• 3 cups flour
  
• 1 tsp soda
  
• 1/2 tsp salt
  






Instructions



1. Boil the first five ingredients together and add shortening, raisins and mincemeat.
   
2. When cool add the rest of the ingredients and bake 1 hr at 350 in an angel food pan.
