List of Ingredients
- Syrup:
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 cups water
- 2 tbs butter
- Batter:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups dates, chopped
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Whipped cream or cool whip
Instructions
- For the syrup
- Combine 2 cups brown sugar & water cook together 3 min to make syrup.
- Remove from heat and add butter.
- For the batter
- Sift sugar, flour, baking powder & salt together.
- Add milk & stir until smooth.
- Fold in chopped dates & nuts blending well into mixture.
- Pour syrup in greased 13 x 9 baking dish. Pour batter on top of hot syrup & bake at 350 for 35-40 min.
- When cool alternate spoonfuls of date pudding with whipped cream.
