    Instead of purchasing the expensive ice cream cakes from the speciality ice cream shops, I came up with my own. It's become a family favorite.

    List of Ingredients




    Cake:
    1 package Oreo cookies, crushed into fine crumbs
    1/4 cup butter, melted
    1 jar fudge sauce, warmed (for ease of spreading)
    1 half gallon vanilla or chocolate ice cream

    Frosting:
    1 3oz. package instant vanilla or chocolate pudding
    1 cup milk
    1 t. vanilla extract
    1 8oz. container Kool Whip, thawed

    Recipe



    Reserve 1 cup cookie crumbs and set aside. In a bowl, combine cookie crumbs and butter. Press crumb mixture into a spring form pan. Freeze 15 minutes. Cut half gallon of ice cream into 1 inch thick slices. Arrange half of the ice cream over cookie crust cutting slices to fit. Spread into a smooth layer. Pour fudge sauce over the ice cream. Sprinkle with the reserved cookie crumbs. Freeze 15 minutes. Top with remaining ice cream. Smooth out. Cover and freeze for at least 1 hour. Prepare frosting.

    Frosting:
    In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine pudding mix with milk and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Gently fold in whipped topping until no streaks remain.
    Remove cake from springform pan and frost top and sides of cake. Freeze at least 2 hours.

    To serve let cake sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before slicing.
