    Larry's Enchilada Sauce

    My neighbor made up this recipe. It's so much better than the canned stuff! This makes enough for a 9x13 inch pan of enchiladas.

    List of Ingredients




    1 stick butter (I totally elimnate this and it works just fine)
    1/4 cup flour
    17 oz. water
    2 T. soy sauce
    1 t. chili powder
    1 t. ground cumin
    1 t. garlic powder
    1 t. jalapenos (minced) add more if you like it spicier

    Recipe



    In a medium sauce pan, Make a paste of flour and butter, stirring over low heat. ( if elimnating the butter, shake flour and water together to mix). Add 12 oz. water while stirring. Add soy sauce, chili powder, cumin, garlic and jalapenos. heat to a boil. simmer 5 minutes uncovered. Stirring constantly until thickened. Add remaining water. Stir and cook for 5 minutes. Sauce should not be very thick. Use over your favorite enchilada recipe.
