    Saurkraut Meatball Soup (Mom's Recipe)

    Don't knock this before you try it! (This makes a large amount)

    List of Ingredients




    3 Quarts water
    9 chicken bouillion cubes
    1 small can evaporated milk
    1 can water
    3/4 c. margarine
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 large can sauerkraut and juice
    meatballs:
    2 pounds ground beef
    1 c. bread crumbs
    1/4 t. onion powder
    1/4 t. nutmeg
    1/4 salt
    Mix together and form into balls. Fry in skillet until cooked through or place on a baking sheet, bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees or until cooked through.

    In a large kettle bring 3 quarts water to a boil. Heat milk and 1 can of water until warm in a separate pan. In a skillet, melt margarine and mix in flour. Add small amount of milk to it and stir until thickened on low heat. Add to kettle with the water. Then add kraut and meatballs. Simmer.
