Bananas Foster French Toast

Ingredients
3 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
2 Tablespoons sugar
1/2 Tablespoon vanilla
8 slices French bread
8 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
2 bananas, sliced lengthwise and then in half
1/2 cup rum
In a medium bowl whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, and vanilla. Melt a few Tablespoons butter in frying pan. Dip bread slices into egg mixture. Fry bread in the butter for about 3 minutes each side. In another pan melt the two Tablespoons of butter, add brown sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add the bananas and saute for 2 minutes. Add rum and very carefully hold a long match to the pan contents to flame. Serve banana slices with some of the bananas and rum sauce on top. Serve with warm maple syrup if desired.
