Black-Eyed Pea Dip

1/2 cup butter
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese grated
1 8 oz. brick Kraft American process cheese, cut in cubes
2 - 16 oz. cans black eyed peas, drained
1 - 16 oz. can black eyed peas with jalapenos, undrained
1 medium chopped onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 - 7 oz. can chopped green chilisRecipe
In a large pot, over medium heat, melt butter; add onion, garlic and green chilis, saute for 5-7 minutes. Add black eyed peas and both cheeses, bring heat down to low-medium, until cheeses melt. Stir occasionally to help prevent cheese from scorching. Serve dip with tortilla chips.
