    Chocolate Custard Ice Cream

    List of Ingredients




    2 cups sugar
    1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    1/8 tsp salt
    2 cups whole milk
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    4 squares (4 ounces) Hershey's unsweetened baking chocolate, broken into pieces
    4 cups (2 pints) light cream
    2 tbsps vanilla extract

    Recipe



    In medium saucepan, stir together sugar, flour and salt. Gradually stir in milk. Add eggs and chocolate pieces. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and begins to boil; boil and stir 1 minute. Cool; refrigerate until cold. Stir together chocolate mixture, light cream and vanilla. Fill ice cream freezer container no more that 2/3 full. Freeze according to manufacture's directions.

    Makes about 2 quarts ice cream.
