1 pkg. taco spices and seasonings
1 lb. ground beef
3/4 cup water
all purpose flour
1 lb. frozen bread dough OR 2 cans refridgerator pizza dough
2 cups monteray jack cheese, shredded
1 can diced greeen chilis, drained
Sour cream (garnish)
Salsa (garnish) Recipe
Prepare taco spices with ground beef and water, set aside.
On floured board, roll out dough to 14x8-in. rectangle. Spread taco meat mixture onto center of dough, leaving a 2-inch border. Layer cheese and chilis on top. Fold dough lengthwise in half, pinch edges together to seal. Place on a lightly grease baking sheet.
Bake uncovered in 350ºF. oven for 30 mins. or until golden brown.
Serving suggestion: Cut into slices & serve with sour cream and salsa.
* Hint* for extra flavour brush top of calzone with beaten egg and lightly sprinkly with cornmeal.
* Hint* for four individual calzones, cut rolled dough into 4 equal rectangles. Fill and fold as directed. Place on greased pan and bake at 375ºF. for 20 mins or until golden.
