    Hearty Ham & Cheese Pockets

    Source of Recipe

    "Pillsbury Classic Cookbooks"

    List of Ingredients

2 ounces (1/2 cup) shredded Cheddar cheese
2 ounces (1/2 cup) shredded Swiss cheese
1 cup chopped cooked ham (about 6 ounces)
1/4 cup chopped greens or red bell pepper
    1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1 (10-ounce) can Pillsbury Refrigerated Pizza Crust

    Recipe

    1) Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Grease cookie sheet. In medium brown, combine all ingredients except pizza crust; mix well.

    2) Unroll dough; place on greased cookie sheet. Starting at center, press out dough with hands to 14x8-inch rectangle. Cut into four 7x4-inch rectangles; separate slightly.

    3) Spoon about 1/2 cup ham and cheese mixture onto half of each rectangle; fold dough over filling. Press edges with fork to seal; prick tops with fork.

    4) Bake at 425 degrees F. for 11 to 16 minutes or until golden brown.

    Yield: 4 sandwiches

TIPS: To give the pockets shiny crusts, bursh the tips with slightly beaten egg whites before baking. For extra crunch, sprinkle the egg-white-glazed pockets with sesame seed or poppy seed before baking.

Cooked chicken, turkey or beef can be used in place of ham.
