    Put a piece of toasted french bread and some cheese on the bottom of the bowl, then soup, and top with more toasted french bread and cheese and broil it until brown on top.

    List of Ingredients




    2 large or 3 medium onions, sliced
    1/4 cup butter or margarine
    1 quart (4 c.) water
    6 tsp. beef bouillon
    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
    Dash of pepper
    french bread, sliced and toasted
    Swiss or Gureye cheese
    Grated parmesan cheese

    Recipe



    In large saucepan, cook onions in butter until tender. Add water, bouillon, Worcestershire sauce and pepper. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes to blend flavors. To serve, top each serving with a slice of toasted french bread, swiss cheese, and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. If desired, place under broiler until cheese is bubbly. Makes 4-6 servings.
