Au Gratin Peas and Potatoes

6 bacon strips
1 chopped onion
4 cups sliced peeled cooked potatoes
salt and pepper
10 oz pkg frozen peas cooked and drained
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese divided
1/2 cup mayo
1/2 cup milk Recipe
Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels. Drain skillet reserving 1 tbs drippings. Saute onion in drippings until tender. Layer with potatoes, salt and pepper, peas and 1 cup of cheese and crumbled bacon. Reduce heat cover and simmer for 10 min. Mix together mayo and milk until smooth. Pour over bacon. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Remove from heat and let stand 5 min before serving.
