Fruit-Nut Bread

List of Ingredients
- 1 C. brown sugar, packed
- 1 C. water
- 1 C. dried fruit, cut up (apples, dates, apricots, figs, prunes, or raisins)
- 1/2 C. chopped nuts
- 1 T. butter or margarine
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 C. all-purpose four
Instructions
- In a saucepan, mix together the first 6 ingredients; stir over a medium heat until butter melts. Set aside.
- When cooled, stir in the soda, egg, and then the flour.
- Bake in a greased 9x5x3 loaf pan at 350 degress for about 1 hour.
- Cool on a rack.
