Oven French Toast

List of Ingredients
- 1 round of Hawaiian Sweet Bread, cubed
- 8oz. pkg. of cream cheese, cut in pieces
- 6 large eggs
- 4 C. half and half
- 1/2 C. melted butter
- 1/4 C. maple syrup
- 10oz. jar strawberry preserves or other fruit flavor
- 2 C. fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- Arrange half bread cubes in 13x9 lightly greased pan. Sprinkle with cheese pieces and top with remaining bread.
- Whisk together eggs, half and half, butter and syrup. Pour over bread mixture and press so that bread absorbs egg mixture. (Sprinkle heavily with cinnamon on top it desired) Cover and chill 8 hours/overnight.
- Bake covered at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. Uncover and bake 20 minutes more.
- Heat fruit preserves and fruit in a saucepan over low heat and serve over toast.
- Lighten by using 8oz Neufchatel cheese for cream cheese, 1 1/2 C. egg substitute for eggs, and 4 C. fat-free milk for half and half.
