Buttermilk Brownies

List of Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 4 tbsp. cocoa
- 1 c. cold water
- 1/2 c. oleo
- 1/2 c. salad oil
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 eggs
- FROSTING:
- 1/2 c. oleo
- 1/4 c. cocoa
- 1/3 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 bag powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
- Sift sugar, flour, and cocoa together in bowl. In sauce pan bring water, oleo, and salad oil to a boil. Pour over dry ingredients in bowl and beat until creamy. Add buttermilk, salt, soda, and eggs. Beat thoroughly.
- Bake in greased jelly roll pan 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
- BUTTERMILK FROSTING: Bring oleo, cocoa, and buttermilk to a boil. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Spread over brownies.
