    List of Ingredients


    • 2 qts. cooked Northern Beans (Mrs. Grimes)
    • 2 ham hocks (smoked) (ham sub)
    • 1 large onion
    • 8 small celery stalks
    • grated carrots for color
    • 4 c. water
    • 1-2 cans butter beans
    • 1 tsp. crushed thyme
    • 3 bay leaves
    • 1 large potato---diced small
    • salt
    • pepper
    • lowreys seasoning
    • celery salt
    • lemon pepper


    Instructions


    1. Boil ham hocks on bone. Then add onion, celery, potato, carrots and seasoning. Cook slowly for 1 hour in covered pan.
    2. Debone the meat and cut into small pieces. Add remaining ingredients and cook on low for 2-3 hours.


    Final Comments


    The potato is supposed to help remove some of the gas problems from the beans.
