Fruit Pies and Pie Crust

Recipe Introduction
The first 4 ingredients are for the pie crust. Directions to make blueberry, raspberry or apple are under each heading.
List of Ingredients
- 2 cup flour
- 1 cup Crisco
- salt
- Water to hold it together (cold)-put in 1 tsp at a time
- Blueberry Filling is 3 cups of Blueberrie
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- Pats of butter
- Raspberry Filling is 2-3 cups of raspberries
- 1 cup sugar
- flour and cinnamon and dabs of butter
- Apple Filling is 3 cups of apples
- 1/4 cup flour
- 3/4 - 1 cup of sugar
- Nutmeg and cinnamon and dabs of butter
Instructions
- Cut the Crisco into the flour and salt and then add water, a little at a time. I think it is usually around 6-7 teaspoons.
- For the fruit pies, you have to go by taste and texture to decide if it needs more flour or sugar. The berries are all different depending on if they are fresh, frozen, from the market or just picked.
- After you make the crust, divide it in half and roll out to form the bottom. Add fruit and then place dabs of butter (5-6)on top of the fruit. Then add any spices (cinnamon, nutmet, etc...) Then layer on the top crust. Put holes or slashes in the crust. Splash the pie with a tiny bit of water and then sprinkle white sugar on the top of the pie.
- Bake most of the pies for 400 for 15 minutes and then 375 for around 45 minutes. Watch for spillage in the oven.
