- 14 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup margarine
- 1 egg yolk (save egg whites)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Stir tgether the ingredients and roll into 1 inch balls; dip in beaten leftover egg whites. Roll in chipped nuts. Bake at 375 for 4 minutes and then with a spoon press the center of the cookie down. Return to oven and cook 6 more minutes. Cool and and then put jelly in the center. This recipe yields very few cookies. I usually triple the recipe.
