Peach Crumb Pie

List of Ingredients
- Filling ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. grated nutmeg
- pinch of black pepper
- 2 lbs. peaches (peeled, pitted, and cut into wedges- about 3 cups)
- Topping ingredients:
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 cup pecans
- 1/2 stick butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. grated nutmeg
Instructions
- Combine water, 1/4 cup brown sugar, cornstarch, salt, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, and pepper in a saucepan over high heat.
- Bring to a boil and whisk until smooth.
- Remove from heat.
- Put peaches in large bowl and pour the syrup over them.
- Toss to coat evenly.
- Let cool for 10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine all the topping ingredients in mixing bowl.
- Work the mixture together to form a ball.
- Pour peach mixture into prepared pie crust 9 inch deep pie dish. Spread evenly.
- Crumble the topping evenly over the top.
- Bake for 1 hour or until crust and topping are browned.
- Cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
