Recipe Introduction


Once upon a time this cake was a favorite of all her kids.





List of Ingredients



• 3 cups sugar
  
• 1 1/3 cups shortening
  
• 9 eggs
  
• 3 cups flour
  
• 1/2 tsp. salt
  
• 1 tsp. lemon extract
  






Instructions



1. Cream sugar and shortening until light and fluffy (with mixer).
   
2. Add eggs one at a time, beating constantly.
   
3. Add flour and salt. Mix well.
   
4. Add extract and mix.
   
5. Bake in well greased and floured tube pan at 300 degrees for 1 to 1 1/4 hours.
