    Billy got this recipe from an ex co-worker at Campbell Soup.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups granulated sugar
    • 1 cup light corn syrup
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 1 cup butter ( real butter)
    • 2 cups raw peanuts
    • 1 tsp. baking soda


    Instructions


    1. Heat and stir sugar, syrup, and water in 3 quart sauce pan until sugar dissolves.
    2. When syrup boils, blend in butter.
    3. Stir often after 230 degrees.
    4. Add nuts at 280 degrees.
    5. Stir constantly to hard crack stage (305 degrees). Remove from heat.
    6. Quickly stir in soda and mix well.
    7. Pour onto 2 buttered cookie sheets.
    8. Stretch thin by lifting and pulling from edged with forks.
    9. Loosen from pans as soon as possible.
    10. Break up.


    Final Comments


    Makes 2 1/2 pounds.
